Plott-Tober Fest

What does the baying of a Plott Hound, the clanging of a blacksmith’s anvil, and the oom-pah of a tuba have in common?  They can all be heard at PLOTT-TOBER FEST!

October 5-8, 2023

The first festival of its kind in Western North Carolina, PLOTT-TOBER FEST celebrates the region’s unique traditions of German and Appalachian culture and, of course, the North Carolina state dog, the Plott hound.

Four days of mouth-watering German and American foods, traditional German and Appalachian music, pioneer living demonstrations, tours of historic sites, children’s activities, Plott hound trials, and more equal a family friendly event like no other in these parts.

Proceeds support the Haywood County Historical & Genealogical Society as well as the efforts of the Canton Area Historical Museum to fully reopen after flood damage from Tropical Storm Fred in 2021.

And children under 18 are admitted free!
